Ruben was born in 2012 and, as a result of medical negligence at his birth, has lived ever since with cerebral palsy. In 2016 the NSW Supreme Court awarded Ruben damages and appointed Equity Trustees as financial manager and administrator for Ruben’s estate.

Since our appointment, we have worked with Ruben’s family – parents Alaina-Lee and Shaun and grandmother Sharlene – as well as Ruben’s financial advisors at AMP Advice to make sure he accesses the mix of therapies and treatments required of his complex circumstances. This includes life-changing stem cell treatment, which he has responded well to and which is allowing him to do things he had not been able to previously, such as speaking words for the first time.

The treatment has also calmed him, and his family have seen a marked improvement in his ability to walk upstairs and climb. Ruben will undergo further stem cell treatment and, there is great hope that it will bring even more benefits for Ruben.
