The Community Rebuilding Trust (CRT) was established with the broader aim of supporting the rebuilding of communities. Currently, it is directing assistance to help bushfire affected communities.
The CRT, is part of a larger community rebuilding initiative, BizRebuild, which is designed to respond to community need following disasters and emergencies. By donating to the CRT, you are supporting the work of BizRebuild.
BizRebuild is being overseen by an Advisory Committee chaired by General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove (Retd) and will target helping affected communities in many ways, including the following:
- Providing financial assistance to replace lost tools and office equipment so workers can return to work
- Providing temporary business premises, including demountable buildings, so small businesses can re-open their doors
- Sending in financial and business recovery experts to help small businesses cut through red tape and plan a future, and
- Rebuilding destroyed community facilities.
If you are a business wanting to become involved in BizRebuild, you can read more about the purpose and work of the program on the
Business Council of Australia website.
The CRT will be overseen by the same Committee established to steer BizRebuild. Current members of the Committee are listed below, with places reserved for representatives of Australian emergency service volunteers.
