Applications are open 17 April 2020 for the Frances and Harold Abbott Foundation annual granting program, with priority given to projects which aim to benefit the Bendigo region.
The Foundation is the legacy of well-known Bendigo businessman Harold Athelstane Abbott, who passed away aged 90 in 1979. It is proudly managed by Australia’s leading philanthropy specialists, Equity Trustees.
2020 Grant round now closed
The Frances & Harold Abbott Foundation invites application for funding between $5,000 – $40,000 for organisations that are serving the Bendigo region and providing assistance to the community through an emergency or disaster, such as bushfire, flood or the COVID-19 pandemic, or alternatively, organisations that are themselves impacted by such a disaster and in need of support. For example:
- Support for service delivery: Supporting charitable community service or health service organisations to provide for basic needs such as food, medical assistance, shelter, and welfare.
- Supporting such charitable community service organisations with core operational costs to help offset increased costs and/or reduced income resulting from an emergency or disaster.
- Supporting other charitable organisations who contribute to the civic and cultural life of communities such as arts and cultural bodies, or other civic organisations. Support is available for organisations to adapt their services for different modes of delivery potentially by using technology.
