    The Betty Ward Foundation

The Betty Ward Foundation was established by the late Evelyn Betty Ward in 2016. Betty was deeply committed to the South Australian community and her Foundation continues to support young people and their communities to break the cycle of intergenerational disadvantage.

Australian Executor Trustees Limited (AET, part of Equity Trustees) is the trustee of the Foundation.

Eligible charities can apply for funding via an expression of interest process aligned with the Foundation’s funding strategy.

    How granting decisions are made

    The Foundation supports:

    • Fostering an appreciation of culture and/or sports in schools and homes
    • Enabling access to culture and/or sports for young people who face financial and physical barriers to participation, and
    • Developing skills and capability of talented local teachers.

Advisory committee members consider annual and multi-year applications for funding up to $50,000 from February to early May via SmartyGrants.
