Equity Trustees partners with Royal London Asset Management as Responsible Entity for launch of four new Australian funds

Equity Trustees is proud to be partnering with Royal London Asset Management (RLAM), one of the UK’s leading fund management companies, as the Responsible Entity for four new funds. RLAM is owned by the Royal London Group, the UK’s largest mutual life pension and investment provider, and manages assets on behalf of a wide range of clients across the globe.

Andrew Godfrey, Executive General Manager of Corporate and Superannuation Trustee Services at Equity Trustees, said: “We are excited to be partnering with Royal London Asset Management as they make their mark in the Australian market and join a growing trend of international fund managers participating in the world’s second largest pension fund market here in Australia.”

    The funds

The four new Australian vehicles are structured as feeder funds that gain indirect exposure to established, Irish domiciled Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) as follows:

    • Royal London Global Equity Enhanced Fund employs an active investment approach that focuses on stock selection and incorporates portfolio optimisation and implementation expertise.

    • Royal London Global Equity Diversified Fund aims to provide investors with exposure to a diversified portfolio of approximately 175–225 global equities, which seeks to deliver returns above the benchmark over the long term through active stock selection.

    • Royal London Short Duration Global High Yield Bond Fund is designed to offer a global credit product that seeks to provide income with controlled volatility, especially in uncertain market environments.

    • Royal London Global Equity Select Fund aims to deliver long-term capital growth by investing in a portfolio of global equities, diversified by country, sector and life cycle. The equities in which the strategies invest may be from both developed and emerging market countries and from any sector, industry or market capitalisation.

Ed Venner, Chief Client Officer of RLAM, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Equity Trustees to bring these initial four funds to the Australian market. Since 2017, we have been proud to have supported many Australian investors in achieving their financial goals.  Together with our recent appointment of Sydney based Kevin Haran, we look forward to now having our own funds to further improve access to our proven investment capabilities.”

Andrew Godfrey added: “As Responsible Entity, our role is to ensure the funds operate with the highest standards of governance and compliance. We’re proud to support Royal London Asset Management in bringing high-quality global investment strategies to Australian investors.”
