Offering pro bono service to Good Shepherd clients

While Equity Trustees had a great working relationship with not-for-profit Good Shepherd, we knew there was more we could do for some of their clients by offering our expertise pro bono.

In this case, our client relationship manager John Acton reached out to work through just what we could do. Right now, he is working with two women in different States to offer access to the expertise and experience we use for our clients.
 
The aim is to extend the pro bono service to more Good Shepherd clients, who are vulnerable women, girls and their families in our communities nationally.

“There is a real sense of family in Good Shepherd and their interactions with the clients,” said John. “I’m proud to have the opportunity to be a part of it.”

Equity Trustees’ service focus will be assisting ageing clients who now need a tribunal appointed Administrator or Financial Manager to protect their assets and pay their bills. For the first two clients, the work included moving to protect the assets they have, liaising with Centrelink on their behalf and paying their bills.

“We will work with the Good Shepherd support people to maintain the independence of the women and their place in the community. Being introduced to the Good Shepherd team and the work that they do has been an incredible experience, it gives me even greater pride in the work that I do and the very real difference we can make to people,” John said.
