THE ROLE OF THE EXECUTOR


An Executor is a person or a trustee company, appointed in a Will to handle a person's estate once they have passed away. An Executor has many responsibilities, starting shortly after death and lasting until asset distribution is completed. Some duties undertaken include:

  • Confirmation of the Will
  • Arranging the funeral
  • Applying for probate
  • Payment of bills
  • Protection of assets in the estate
  • Locating beneficiaries
