Grant Seekers' Overview

Charitable trusts and foundations administered by Equity Trustees support a wide range of causes.

Each trust or foundation has a set of guidelines in terms of the sort of activities they support. Prospective recipients therefore need to determine:

  1. Which of the trusts or foundations are suitable for their particular funding needs; and
  2. The application procedure applicable to that particular trust or foundation.

Grant amounts vary tremendously and grant seekers should be aware that there is a large demand for funds making this a very competitive process. Each trust or foundation is different, so early research is encouraged.

There are a couple of important points in regards to grant eligibility:

  • Individuals and charities from outside Australia are generally not eligible to apply; however, we have provided links to a number of other websites that may be helpful to charitable organisations and grant seekers in other countries. Click here for more information.
  • Most of our trusts can only assist individuals who live in Victoria and charitable organisations with an office in Victoria. If you are outside of Victoria, there is a specific selection option in the search facility in order to identify suitable trusts. Click here to access the page that provides instructions and a search facility for you to identify potential trusts. After your identification of possible trusts to apply to, you can read an overview and gain an understanding of the application procedures and the supporting documentation required.
