Following a corporate restructure in 2003, Equity Asset Management ('EAM') was established within the Private Client Business unit to provide investment advice to EQT’s internal client base. Subsequently, EAM became a separate business unit. EAM has implemented an investment process compatible to the internal client base, which requires a long-term conservative investment management style focused on after-tax returns.
EAM's comparative advantage stems from its focus on the longer term strategic drivers of the companies it invests in. The investment process includes a focus on fundamental research utilizing a strategic framework which looks to identify all the resources a company has at its disposal to add value.
The size and structure of EAM is designed to match the investment process. The investment process is built around a collegiate style of team engagement and is best achieved by a relatively small and cohesive team. The team currently consists of five investment professionals with additional dealing and administrative support.
